Our Future

Twin Lakes Canal Company has always been a forward-looking organization. Our ancestors had a vision way ahead of their time when they began a system of canals and reservoirs to water the West side of the county. We are trying hard to improve and become better at delivering the precious irrigation water that will make our shareholders successful in their farming and ranching operations.

Our workers are kept extremely busy during the irrigation season, trying to push as much water through the canals in a short period of time to satisfy the demand. They are constantly cleaning, watching for leaks, and making sure that each stockholder gets their fair share of water. By putting water in a pressurized pipeline system we will save a lot of electricity, conserve water, and reduce upkeep costs.

Our Bear River Dam project is designed to add additional storage to our three-reservoir system.

Power generated by the proposed dam will provide a way to not only build the dam, but also to put our irrigation system into a pressurized pipeline. This would prevent loss due to evaporation and seepage, as well as thousands of dollars in savings that our stockholders are now paying to pump their water into irrigation systems.

Power generated by the dam would provide electricity for an estimated 6,700 homes. This is energy that does not come from OPEC, or polluting coal-fired plants, but is a clean and renewable source of energy that is much needed in our country. Right now, power generation in the United States is a top priority, especially a clean, renewable power.
